What’s the best way to lose weight for a 12 year old?

I’m way over weight and I really want to lose weight. But, i’m only 12. How can I?

Exercise, exercise, exercise. At your age, you don’t need to really worry about strength training or any of that, just get outside and run around, take up a sport, anything to keep you moving. Lay off the junk foods and keep up a healthy diet with plenty of the essentials: Vegetables, milk, whole grains, fish, ect. You’ll be back at a healthy weight before you know it.

is there any way that i can lose up to 2-5 pounds in less then a week like simple things i can do anything would help…..nothing like jenny craigh or julian or any of that stuff. im hoping to get answer like foods i can eat or a certain meal to eat everyday

To lose weight you just need to burn more than you eat, it is as simple as that.
Putting it into practice is more difficult than saying it of course but knowing this simple fact ensures that if you take even one small step towards losing weight at least you take it in the right direction and not the wrong one like many do,.,…

I’m only 16. But I’m uncomfortable with my body. I have huge love-handles and a big pouch on my lower tummy. Any good methods to get rid of them?

Loosing weight fast is always an unhealthy thing.
There are many diets who tell you that you can loose a lot of weight in no time. And it is working, but you are doing no good to your body. And there’s also the Jojo-effect.
The best thing to loose and hold a healthy weight is healthy food, less sugar, lots of drinking water, and sports.
Diet has to begin in your head. And you already started to think about your nutrition. That’s an important step. It is too easy just to make a magazine-diet for 2-3 weeks and loose some weight. But it will come back soon again. If you are over-thinking your nutrition and activity, you will have a constantly good result. Isn’t that much better and healthier than a crash-diet ?

I’m a girl, about 5 "6" and weigh about 130 lb. I’m not fat, but I would like to lose weight. I already play soccer at school, but I need something more. I eat pretty healthy, so I would rather get some exercize tips rather than diet tips. I can run a 6:30 mile, do 63 sit-ups in one minute, etc. so I’m pretty fit. I would go biking, but I live on a steep hill, which makes it hard to do a lot of activities. We have a pool, but I heard swimming doesn’t help you lose weight fast. I sometimes go for walks/jogs around the hill I live on, but I can’t do that all the time since it’s not the best area. So any exercise and maybe some diet tips would be great! Thanks.

run the track at school 3-4 times a week after school…

you should be able to run 3 quick miles in 20-30 mins…

the weight will melt off within a month easy and no one will touch you on the soccer field which is a nice bonus.

any ideas on losing weight..i want to try to lose at least 100 lbs.and willing to start eating healther for me and my kids.help

Sometimes keeping a food diary can help. Sometimes we don’t remember how much we have snacked on during the day. The food diary can help you see if you are snacking excessively or help you see a bad habit.

If snacking is your problem you can look into a couple of options. You can cut down on your snacking or plan for healthier snacks. Don’t drastically change your diet unless you know that you can stick with it. Otherwise you just gain all of the weight back because you go back to old habits. Just change a little at a time. Try having two "healthy meals" a week. Something as simple as having grilled food, instead of something fried.

Also, to lose weight you really need to do some type of exercise. Find something that you enjoy doing. You will be more likely to stick with it. Maybe walking, swimming, yoga, dance, aerobics. Just whatever you find interesting. If you bore easily you may want to try doing more than one thing. For instance, walking with friends on Monday and Wednesday, yoga on Tuesday and Thursday. The next week try dance on Mon. and wed. and aerobics or Tues. and Thurs.. You just have to find what works for you. The most important thing is to keep it fun and interesting. Take time and try some new things!

Beofre i go to the gym i eat carbs. I go to the gym and start off with running for 30mins and then i start leg pressing 3 rep of 10 leg presses with 300 lbs and then bench 3 reps of 10 and then do P-Flys and after my work out eat protein. I want to lose weight more than gain muscle so what is good ?

Dont listen to the people who are telling you not to lift, you should definitely lift for weight loss as higher muscle mass speeds up your metabolism. However try starting off with 10 minutes of cardio, then doing your weights, then doing your running/other cardio AFTER the weights session.

I want to lose weight this year, so i would like to ask what are the different ways to lose weight…?

I been chubby since birth i never lose weight.. I been trying so many dieting like crush diet, liquid diet (which i cant take longer because i get headache easily) no rice diet… was still not effective.

I am 17 years old, 175 pounds, and 5ft. 8. I am trying to lose all of my excess weight before college (February 2 – August 20). This gives me about 5 months to lose 30-40 pounds.
