Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

im 15 and i weigh 225 so far i lost like 15 pounds i want to weigh 110
and i need to lose 115 pounds in 5/7 months how can i lose that much weight without hurting myself

If you change some unhealthy habits to healthy habits, you’ll start to lose weight slowly. Never starve yourself or skip meals, because you’ll just end up with slow metabolism and stunt your growth. As a teen, you need to develop some healthy eating habits, which will be beneficial long-term later.

Some tips are:
*Exercise at least 30 min/day, or 3-5x/week.
*Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables [Low in Calories]
*Drink lots of water- it makes you feel full & keeps you hydrated.
You’ll burn more calories if you’re hydrated.
*Eat 3 hours before bed.
*Avoid greasy, oily, fried fatty foods.
*Cut out junk food & Empty calories.
*Eat smaller meals than 3 big ones.
*Avoid trans fat and sugar.
*Always have breakfast with plenty of fibre & protein.

Make changes in your lifestyle and look at them positively.
Learn to make healthier choices and decisions, and you’ll start feeling healthier than ever.

Best wishes.

Goodness; you’re 13 and weigh that much? What on earth do you eat?

Okay now seriously; decrease the amount of food you eat and RUN LIKE HELL for at least 10 miles a day; increase one mile each day; so that by the end of the month you’re doing 40 miles a day. You’ll lose weight. Just really really decrease your eating.

main rules:
*DO NOT eat 4 hours before you sleep
*DO NOT eat sweets in any way shape or form
*DO NOT miss a day of excersize
*DO NOT drink anything but water.

What’s a good way for TEENS to lose weight fast without some weird diet?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I’m about 10-15 pounds overweight, and nobody else notices, but I do. It makes me feel gross to have big thighs and a flabby stomach. What do I do??

Try to stick to black tea/coffee. Black tea or coffee can actually be good for you. But personally I would like to recommend tea rather than coffee. The caffeine in the coffee is not really good for you because it is an alkaloid and can affect other functions of your body like the metabolism.

Healthy ways to lose weight for teens?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Hi, this is the first time I have wrote one of these, so pardon if I mess up, ha ha.

So I am 15 years old, almost 16, and I weigh about 202 pounds. For my age it is really unhealthy. I am about 5′ 9" so I kind of get proportioned, but not by much.

Most of my fat is in my stomach area, but mostly my thighs. I have been both bulimic and annorexic in the past, but it didn’t help much. I don’t wish to lead a life like that.

I am also a dancer so I dance at a minimum of 7 hours a week.

I was just wondering does anyone have some tips for me?

I am just struggling with my weight and need some advice, any works… But if you are just going to tell me I am obese, then please refrain from posting anything!

Thank You!

Being an athlete..as a dancer you are an athlete…you can expect to weigh more, so don’t let that discourage you. Go by your doc’s advice, your abilities, how you look, feel, and how your clothes fit.

Slim fast has a very good support system whether or not you use their products. Go to their free website. www.slimfast.com Lots of nutrition and menu planning info and a progress tracker, and a message board and buddy system.

But really at your age, you are not done growing or developing and this is a calorie intensive process for the body. DONT skip on food or diet too much. Not that you can’t be health conscious…of course you can.

Best advice I can give you is to skip the junk food, snack healthy, eat three small meals and three larger snacks per day. Choose healthy foods and healthy cooking methods and monitor portion sizes. Treat yourself every now and then to something wholesome but decadent (such as ice cream)

And exercise. One hour a week of each:

stength training (weights, bands, ball), cardio (walking, swimming), and stretching (yoga, pilates)

on top of your dance each day will make you strong, lean, and a fat burning goddess!

What are some easy ways to diet and lose weight for a teen?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Well im 16, and seeking to lose some pounds. Im not fat, but i have a pudge and i dont like my thighs. I want to know some easy ways to lose weight. What foods should i stay away from? And what foods should i start eating?
I would really appreciate your answers.
10 points to best.

Thanks<3

1. First start by getting up earlier than usual. Around 5:30 AM to do some of you workouts. Getting up early shocks your metabolism because the body needs more energy to get going. Right? This will start your system on the road to weight loss. That early start with about 10 minutes of stretching. Have a cup of coffee to get the blood going also.

2. Do all the sit-ups you can. Just do them. 15 or 20 whatever, we don’t have a lot of time to work with. Rest 1 minute repeat, do this for 6 sets. Already you are breathing hard and feel worn, because the body is working extra hard at being up earlier and then going right into exercise. If the early morning hour lets you get your cardio in, go ahead and do it. 30 minutes.

3. Diet. Cut all current meal portions in half, just cut them in half, nothing fancy or complicated, CUT IN HALF! Cut out all bread products, all gravies, candies, chips, night snacks, etc. If you crave at night eat a banana, other fruit or best a non-fat yogurt. There are some tasty ones out there.

4. In the evening do another 6 sets of sit-ups maxing out each set. Cardio again. The trick is to stay with getting up earlier. Yes it’s hard, that’s why it is so effective. Why do you think the Army gets up so early, it is intense training to the max.

Whats a fast easy way to lose weight for teens??

Friday, February 26th, 2010

I am 15 and so basically, I can’t do diet pill, or anything expensive. Im 5′3 and 160 lbs. I really want to be atleast 120 lbs by April or May, cause I have a bunch of stuff I need to look good at. I really would like any suggestions anyone has to help me!

That is to much weight to lose in such a short time. Don’t reduce your calorie intake below about 1500. You body will start to shut down as a famine response.

You should focus on looking better. You can do that with exercises. Start off slow and add more each day. You might not not lose the weight, but you will look better. Muscles weigh more then fat, so weight is not a good measurement. You should be more worried about body mass index (BMI).

A benefit of having more muscle mass is muscles burn more calories then fat.

What is the easiest and fastest way for teens to lose weight?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

go running everyday. at first you’ll be tired, but you’ll grow to love it :] it takes 20 minutes to start burning fat while running, fat doesn’t burn before those 20 minutes, so i would run for 25-30 minutes. remember to pace yourself just a light jog if you’re not used to running. if you’re tired don’t stop just go a little slower. drink lots of water and eat healthy :]

Best way to lose weight for teens?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

I have absolutely no endurance at all. I am not overweight but I am getting close to weighing too much for my age. I get winded just playing my clarinet or walking up stairs. I hate running and am really bad at it. I play a sport in the winter so I need to be in shape for that. Any suggestions how to lose weight and tone up. I am 15 years old and I weigh 131 pounds and I am 5′3”

Find a sport you enjoy playing that will keep you active all year. A great one is soccer or swimming. I also recommend going hiking on the weekends, visit your local roller or ice skating rink, or go to the ymca for yoga or pilates classes. You don’t necessarily need to lose weight, just maintain it and turn fat into muscle. To gain endurance you’ll have to start some form of aerobic exercise like fast-paced walking, jogging, tennis, bicycling, swimming, etc..

is there any way for teens to lose weight without pills or exerciseing?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

i am a overweight teenager that doesnt like to exercise because people stare and ,make rude comments at me.

I doubt it. However, you can change your diet. But exercise is probably the best way. If you don’t like to exercise because of other people’s comments, try exercising in your house where no one except your family will see you (and hopefully they don’t make rude comments, too.) And "go the extra mile"- ie., instead of driving the car to a nearby spot, you can walk there or ride your bike. That won’t draw too much attention. Or you can take the stairs instead of the elevator. Do little things like that to help yourself lose weight, and above all, BE PATIENT and KEEP AT IT. Key word: Perseverance. Those pounds won’t disappear overnight, so you will just have to work at it until you reach your desired weight. Good luck.

Edit: Running at the school track is a good idea too; there’s a high school near my house and whenever I ride my bike past the field next to it, the field is usually empty, so no one will be there to tease you.
